After four straight sold-out performances at Royal Albert Hall this past summer, Daniel Barenboim and the West- Eastern Divan Orchestra (WEDO) continue the Beethoven symphony cycle here in the US with performances in Boston’s Symphony Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and Providence’s Veterans Memorial Auditorium. WEDO was founded in 1999 by maestro Barenboim and the late scholar Edward Said to enable intercultural dialogue and to promote the experience of collaborating as a matter of common interest. WEDO comprises 100 musicians from Israel, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan and Spain.
